Do You LOVE Cookies’n’Cream? Me, too

I was looking for something special to make for my daughter’s birthday, and I knew “your ordinary cake” wasn’t going to cut it. She is a picky little princess and there are only so many flavors and dishes she likes. She’s a big fan of cookies and cream ice cream, though, and at first I thought of just serving ice cream instead of a cake.

But I was worried about the weather – her birthday is in the middle of the hottest summer and I didn’t think it would take long until the ice cream turned into a melted mess. Fortunately, I decided to try this recipe and it turned out great!

I still can’t believe I hadn’t thought of making a cookies’n’cream layered cake myself. This was very easy to make, and I didn’t tell my birthday girl about this until I actually brought the cake to the table. She was so excited! She loved the cake and so did everyone else at the party. I will definitely make this cake again!

I have been trying to stay away from desserts and too many calories, as I’m hoping to shed a couple of pounds that have mysteriously gathered around my waistline. How does that always happen out of nowhere? I swear I was fine just a couple of weeks ago (or maybe it was a couple of years ago..?) but all of a sudden – boom! My jeans don’t fit anymore!

Oh well, I don’t believe in harsh diets. They never seem to work, at least not for me. I’ve noticed it’s much better to have a day or two every month, when you can eat anything your heart desires. This month, I chose to eat these incredible, stuffed, banana cream pie cupcakes!

I gotta tell ya, these cupcakes are so worth a few extra calories! The filling is like a soft cloud of happiness in the middle of the cupcake. If you’re serving these at a party, you’d better make sure you hide a couple of these for yourself first. They are going to be gone in a heartbeat!

You Won’t Be Able To Resist This (And You Shouldn’t)

I haven’t always been a fan of coconut. When I was a kid, my sister was crazy about the coconut chocolate bars (what were they called again? I just can’t remember the name!) and I thought the scent alone was unpleasant.

But something has happened over the years and these days it feels like I can’t get enough of this tropical flavor. Maybe it’s the fact that it brings back so many wonderful memories from a tropical resort I once visited – or maybe we all develop more refined taste buds when we grow up!

Whatever the reason, I have collected quite an impressive bunch of delicious recipes with coconut, and this cake is my absolute number one favorite. It’s so easy to make, it’s almost ridiculous; but it tastes like you’ve spent half a day making it!

Whenever I serve this to guests they beg me for the recipe and I’m a little embarrassed to share it… What can I say, it’s just so simple! The secret is, you’re using coconut in three different forms, and I think that’s what makes the flavor so stupendous.

The PERFECT Cake For Any Occasion

As the celebrations are getting closer, it’s time to start thinking about what to serve at your 4th of July picnic or BBQ. This year we are having a gathering with a bunch of great friends. We decided to go and have a picnic in the park, and everyone is bringing their favorite dishes. My job is to come up with a dessert – there’s going to be 10 of us so it had to be something easy to make that would serve a large crowd. I also wanted it to have a patriotic appearance. After all, 4th of July is only once a year!

This cake cake recipe that I got from my sister seemed so delicious that I decided to give it a try. I wouldn’t want to serve a so-so dessert, so I kind of had to make a test piece for my family first. I’m really not sorry about that.

Using a cake mix, this was really easy to make and it turned out amazing! I didn’t add all the strawberry and blueberry decorations – like I said, this was a test piece and it disappeared so quickly there was no point in adding berries… But I can imagine fresh berries will make this even more delicious!

Quick Tip: This doesn’t have to be a 4th of July cake – just leave out the berries or arrange them in a different way, if you don’t want to decorate the cake with stars and stripes.

Hi everyone! Today I’ve been in such a hurry it made me think of quick and easy dessert recipes! I do love a good, old-fashioned cake that took hours to make, frost and decorate – I would just rather not make one myself right now. You’ll only need a few minutes to prepare it (I am not kidding) and it’ll be so good no-one will ever know you just literally threw it together! I am talking about a nice, gooey dump cake – you know, the kind that looks like the one your grandmother used to make back when you were just a kid. It was one of my favorite desserts! This Southern Sour Cream Coconut Cake is a lovely twist on your classic white cake. It is super-easy to make, bakes in just 40 minutes, and is melt-in-your-mouth wonderful!

This makes for a lovely summer dessert option for your family or next party. And you know what? If I wasn’t married already, I might even consider making this my wedding cake! Yes – it really is THAT delicious, and I wouldn’t be surprised to hear someone had this at their wedding!

Sometimes, I get so caught up finding those wonderful appetizers, entrees, and side dishes for all of you beautiful readers that I forget to share all of those irresistible desserts out there.  This Southern sour cream coconut cake should not be overlooked.  You don’t have to be a master baker to put this one together, and it is so moist and refreshing!  The way it melts in your mouth, it is like eating a sweet piece of cloud.  I really was carried away by the flavor.
