When my sister was little, she absolutely loved the cartoon Strawberry Shortcake. She had every little doll and every movie and adored all of her things. During that time, she found out that Strawberry Shortcake was actually a dessert. So, naturally, she wanted it. And once she tried it, she wanted it every day.

While strawberry shortcake is usually considered a summertime dessert, I found the perfect recipe on Patty Cake’s Pantry that turns it into a festive Holiday treat! No baking involved, and the mason jars make the servings super pretty. The perfect match for kids and adults alike who love these flavors. It’s easy and simple and it is extra tasty and pretty fun to eat!

Kids love the colors in it, and if you’re not a fan of strawberries you could always use cherries or pretty much any kind of fruit or berries for this!

My Holidays Won’t Be The Same Without This Homemade Special Butter

I remember when I was little, my grandmother used to tell me how they made their own butter instead of just getting it from a grocery store, like we do now. I thought it was so fascinating – for a little girl it was such a mind-blowing thing to hear you could make butter yourself! Grandma used to make her homemade butter every now and then, and I always thought it was amazing. I probably could have eaten it with a spoon, if no-one was watching…

All those decades ago my grandparents had a special, handmade tool just to make butter. So I guess it never occurred to me you could make it with one of the most common household items ever; a mason jar!

That’s right, you only need a mason jar for this, so it’s a fun activity to do with your kids, also. This recipe from Erin, over at Making Memories With Your Kids, is for a special cinnamon-sugar butter – and I have to say it’s so delicious, just talking about it makes my mouth water!

All The Good Things And None Of The Bad Stuff!

I make this for my family (and friends) every year… I always make a huge batch and have to use a Tupperware cake top as my bowl and the bottom as my top! It’s sooo rich and creamy! I will put some in tins and give as gifts as well… guess I’m already starting to wish for winter… what am I saying? I’ve been wishing for winter since June! I’m sorry all of you warm weather lovers but I am a HUGE Fall/Winter fan. I love the layered clothing, falling leaves, snow, and HOT COCOA!

I am a huge dip person. Of all types of appetizers, dips are my favorite. Sure, little bacon wrapped potatoes dipped in sour cream are delicious, as well as chopped up brie cheese and apricot jam are delicious wrapped in a puff pastry, but those require so much to enjoy it. You need a plate and napkin and sometimes even a fork to eat those.

A dip is different and much more convenient. With a swoop of your hand, you can have a chip full of dip in your mouth in no time. I just stand by the dip bowl to make it extra easy and more efficient, haha!

I will admit, I am a dip hog. I stand by the dip bowl and almost protect it from other people. If you have made a dip I have never tried, chances are, I want to eat it and eat the whole thing. Let’s just say I was taste testing it to approve it for others. I am crazy about appetizers. If it was up to me, I would just serve all kinds of appetizers for dinner every day, instead of cooking your usual full meal. We all have fond memories of visiting grandma when we were kids. It’s quite common for grandmas to have all sorts of goodies and treats available for her grandkids to eat during their visit. I know that mine surely did. One of the things grandma would regularly make were sweet breads. From banana to zucchini, she’d make them all. One of my favorite breads that grandma would make was her famous lemon blueberry loaf. Oh boy! Was it ever lip-smacking good!

I decided I wanted to mimic my grandma’s lemon blueberry bread but I wanted it to be in muffin form instead of loaf. That’s how I ended up with these incredible muffins that have since become a staple in our breakfast rotation.

These muffins are uh-mazing! I actually have a batch baking in the oven right now as I type this. I wish I had smell-o-vision so you guys could sniff the air that is wafting through my home. It’s a lemon-blueberry paradise up in here.
