cottage cheese lasagna

It doesn’t get yummier than cottage cheese lasagna.

As a young girl growing up in rural Michigan, I was constantly exposed to hot and hearty foods. Cottage cheese lasagna, for example, was one of the many dishes my dear mother would make for her family. You see, dad didn’t like ricotta cheese and mom said it was too expensive so she compromised and used cottage cheese. You’d never know the difference! I find this to be really funny because my husband hates ricotta cheese, too and so do some of my friend’s husbands. It must be a man thing!

Thank you so much, Melady Cooks, for sharing your amazing cottage cheese lasagna recipe with us. I love how easy it is to make the very simple ingredients that it requires.

Cream cheese cornflake cookies make the perfect early morning breakfast when you’re on the go.

You always fail at one point. But that’s the secret—you always learn from your mistakes. After failing, you slowly try to perfect the actions until you can do it even with your eyes closed. That’s how life is, isn’t it? You fail, you stand up, and you do it again.

Sometimes, we even fail for a number of times that we start to lose hope. But never worry. Life is a continuous cycle. There will always be downs, but there will also be ups. We just have to be patient.

So what’s with all the life teachings? Nothing really. It’s just that when I saw this recipe and read how it came to be, I was a bit touched and then amused. Touched because of my best friend, who owns this recipe, had a few realizations about life and mistakes that she told me about. Amused because it was a bit funny how her simple mistake turned out to be a really good one.

Her husband and her kids all loved the recipe she thought was a failure! And they seemed to even have gotten addicted to it. Check out this recipe and find out what’s so addicting about these cream cheese cornflake cookies.

If there is one dessert I cannot turn away, it is an apple flavored dessert. Yep, whether it actually has apples, is a fake with just some apple extract (is that a thing?) or just has apple juice, I am a sucker for all things apple (especially with vanilla ice cream over the top!).  I mean, just ask my waist.

It will definitely tell how much apple desserts I actually eat.  Well, the goodness of apple desserts is something I like to make at home because if not I will spend a fortune at the supermarket keeping my apple sweets stocked.

This past week was a teacher planning day at school, so my granddaughter Alexa came over to spend the night.  I had promised her we would make an apple cake because I know she likes apples as much as I do.  She was thrilled at the idea so she gladly came and was excited for the following morning so we could make the cake.

Well, we were so excited, we decided to make it that night to eat a slice while watching Eloise at The Plaza.  Oh goodness, gracious, thank God I had Alexa to share this with or I would have eaten the whole thing by myself.  It was so good, I now cannot get enough!

If you have taste buds you won’t be able to resist this layered Mexican dip.

The first time I became aware of the awesomeness of layered Mexican dip was at the grocery store. In the deli, I saw this amazingly layered dip sitting in the case next to the fresh salsa and guacamole. I grabbed up this dip and took it home. Guess what I forgot to buy? The stinkin’ chips! I had to eat this stuff with pretzels because I was NOT bundling up that baby and taking him back to the grocery store in the cold. It still tasted great!

I found this recipe over on the TosTinMan YouTube channel. Thank you so much for sharing this simple and layered Mexican dip with us.

5 beef recipes pot roast

This may be a basic pot roast recipe but trust me, there is nothing “basic” about it!

Even the smell of pot roast cooking in the kitchen brings back feelings of nostalgia for me. Growing up, my mother would prepare either a pot or oven roast for our family every Sunday. She would get the roast cooking in the wee hours of the morning so that it would be ready for church. I can remember laying in bed in the darkness and waking up to the aroma wafting upstairs to my room. Some may wake up to freshly brewed coffee but we woke up to pot roast cooking.

I found this recipe over on the I Heart Recipes YouTube channel. Thank you so much, guys, for sharing this simple and savory pot roast masterpiece with us.
