A Great Dinner On A Cold Day!
I love comfort food. I mean, who does not? It seems like everyone does. If you had the choice for that one favorite dish, what is it? Sure, some people have a healthy tilapia and baked potato or a really hearty salad, but let me tell you, most people will tell you their absolute favorite (hands down!), is a big fatty, buttery, full of carbs comfort dish. Yep, you know what I am talking about, that big baked mac and cheese casserole with the crispy golden brown Panko crust, or the hearty lasagna with loads of red sauce and even more cheese.
Ahhh, so much goodness in one dish. I guess that is why it is called “comfort food.” Hahah!
Anyway, recently I was over my neighbor Molly’s house. We both had a few hours off before we had to pick up our grand kids from school and we decided we wanted to make something completely comforting and delicious to greet them with when they got home.
We searched our little recipe books for a while until we found this amazing recipe. It is full of flavor, and comforting deliciousness.

Quick Tip: Serve with a side of biscuits… you are going to want to dip into that sauciness.

I tried this recipe and did exactly as instructed however, the flour and milk did not rise and brown as shown in the picture. I feel like I wasted time and food preparing it. Disappointed!
