Growing up, I used to spend many hours at my grandma’s house.  We were homeschooled so we did not really go out much except to visit my grandma.  It was always such a fun time because although she never even raised her own children in the home she was living in at the time, she had made a play room just for us.  It was a designated room with a glass door so she could keep an eye on us at all times that was full of toys and fun games we could play while we were there.

My sisters and I used to spend hours upon hours playing quietly in there. We never fought or even made a peep, because my grandma had so many toys, we rarely had to share.  On top of that, she had pretty things we could use together, like a tea set, that would keep us entertained for hours.  Every single time we went over, we ended our little play time with tea time. We set out the play tea set she bought us at the table and to make it extra special, my grandma would serve us her secret sugar cream pie.  She always made it just for us when she knew we were coming over.

Dips are some of my favorite things to prepare when I know we are having company.  Once a week, usually on Fridays, my husband and I host a small group at our house.  A few other newlywed couples come over and we have a time of Bible study and then we spend the rest of the evening chit chatting and munching on yummy foods we all brought.  I usually put out soda and provide the plates, napkins and plastic ware, while the rest bring the food, but every now and then I make something, too.

Last week I found a recipe for a really great dip that I wanted to try.  I did not want to make it just for my husband and I because it made far too much and we would eat the whole thing in one day (not that it is a bad thing, just not the healthiest when you are trying to lose some weight haha).  Well, after buying the ingredients, I finally decided I would make it for our Friday night Bible study.  I prepared this dip in advance and left it in the fridge until ready to serve. I knew it would be easy to prep and serve at the moment.

I love lasagna.  It is just the ultimate comfort food if you ask me.  It is filled with great delicious flavors, has layers of perfectly cooked pasta, a lot of red sauce, a good dose of ground beef and if that is not enough, it is layered with loads of ricotta, mozzarella, and parmesan cheeses.  It really cannot get any better than that.  It is the perfect dose of everything to make the best pasta dish known to mankind.  This is so incredibly easy to make, I make it at least once a week in my home.

Well, I have found another incredibly easy, different, yet equally delicious lasagna recipe to make.  Now before you think what I did was eliminate the noodles for another type of pasta, that is not what I did.  Actually I took away the pasta altogether.  Yep, that’s right, there is no pasta whatsoever in this lasagna and that is exactly how I like it! Flavorful, full of texture and really delicious, this is a sweet potato lasagna! It still has all the elements we know and love of a good classic pasta lasagna, but it is better, because the sweet potato add the perfect consistency and sweetness.

When I find a new recipe to make, I get on it.  Oftentimes I get bored of making the same old appetizers for parties and events and I feel people get bored of eating them, too! I am always looking for new appetizers when I am on Pinterest, or see a great one at an event, so when I recently went to a party that had this as an appetizer, I knew I had to get the recipe and try them at home.  I asked the hostess for the recipe and I was so glad to see how simple it was when she gave it to me.

Turns out, she ended up making frozen meatballs in a teriyaki sauce.  I mean, that is it! Nothing else, no extra stuff, no weird ingredients, just meatballs, sauce and extra seasoning if you’d like.  You can add hot sauce for a kick, or brown sugar for sweetness.  These are just so good no matter how you serve them, when you serve them, or where! They are simple, full of flavor and everyone loves them! I have made these multiple times already and they do not get old.  Great flavor and delicious taste!

There is just something so comforting about a good Twix bar.  I love the combination of the cookie with the caramel and then topped with the delicious milk chocolate over the top. It is so creamy and utterly delicious. Another variation of this that I like is the Twix bar ice cream. I usually find these in individual packs at my local CVS so if I am ever craving it, I get in there and buy one to eat on the spot. I gave up on buying a pack for the house, because I used to go through all of those in one day!

I love a good Twix recipe because it reminds me of my childhood.  Every time we would go grocery shopping with my mom and behave, she would buy the big Twix pack that came with four bars and we would each (my two sisters, my mom and I) have one.  It was a good motivation to behave and be good while at the supermarket.  Well, recently as I was browsing Pinterest I found this awesome recipe for an easy to make Twix cookie.  I knew I had to give it a try and with every bite, it took me back to my childhood.

Growing up, I had meatballs at least once a week. It was an easy and cheap meal for my mom to make when we were little and gave her lots of leftovers for us to enjoy the next day.  We ate meatballs with spaghetti, ziti, spiraled pasta and in other ways such as baked ziti, stuffed in lasagna and even in our mac and cheese (obviously no red sauce with mac and cheese, just the cheese).  There were so many cool ways to enjoy this dish that my mom really exhausted all her options.

When I started cooking on my own for my own home, I began looking for a good meatball recipe to make.  One day, I was trying to cook a bit healthy and found turkey meatballs so I decided to give them a try. OH. MY. GOSH.  I have totally forgotten about clean eating, but I have eaten these meatballs at least once a week since. They are so much juicier and flavorful than your regular ol’ meatballs.  And they have so much more potential.  These are the best recipe for meatballs that I have ever found and I will stick with this forever!

I love Valentine’s Day because it gives me a chance to show my husband, parents, siblings and grandparents exactly how much I love them.  Well, not exactly, because I do not think there will ever be enough ways to properly express it, but it will certainly give them a great idea.  I love to find new and unique ways to show them, from gifts to chocolates, to a beautiful card handwritten with all my thoughts towards them.  There are just so many unique ways to show you care.

One of my husband’s favorite ways for me to show him is with baked goods.  He loves when I put together a yummy and delicious treat that he will enjoy and really does show him that I care.  My husband is not a huge sugar cookie fan, but when I make them for a special occasion, he actually quite enjoys them.  Valentine’s Day is one of those days in our home because every time I make them, he gobbles them up! These cookies are super cute and special because although they are a basic sugar cookie, the middle is died in a heart shape and after baked, creates a beautiful round cookie with a heart in the middle.
